Media Statement – PMC Extends Solidarity to the Russian Federation on Russia Day

On behalf of the People’s Movement for Change (PMC), I extend our warmest greetings and unwavering solidarity to the people and leadership of the Russian Federation ontheoccasion of Russia Day. 

Russia Day commemorates the affirmation of sovereignty and the aspiration of the Russian people toward a just and independent path in global affairs. For us in SouthAfrica, this day also reminds us of the enduring bonds of friendship and solidarity forgedduring the darkest days of apartheid. 

The people of Russia, alongside others in the former Soviet Union, stood with us whenthe world’s dominant powers looked the other way. 

Today, as we face new and complex global challenges, we affirm our commitment to a multipolar, peaceful, and cooperative world order. People’s Movement for Change (PMC) recognizes the Russian Federation as an important voice in defending international law, resisting neocolonialism, and supporting the sovereignty of peoples everywhere. 

We stand firm in our belief that international solidarity must be rooted not in domination, but in respect for the dignity and choices of all nations. Russia Day is a celebration of that very principle. 

To the people of Russia: Izdravstvuyte! We stand with you.
