Press Statement – People’s Movement for Change Condemns the Murder of Nada-Jane Challita: A Heartbreaking
Reminder of the Fight We Must Continue
The People’s Movement for Change (PMC) is devastated and outraged by the confirmed confession in the
murder case of young Nada-Jane Challita, whose life was cruelly and senselessly taken when she was
drowned in a bathtub, by someone entrusted to love and protect her.
There are no words strong enough to express our collective grief and fury. What happened to Nada-Jane is
not only a personal tragedy for her family and community but a brutal indictment of a society that
continues to fail its children.
We condemn this heinous act of child abuse and murder in the strongest possible terms. It is an affront to
every moral, legal, and spiritual code we uphold. This was not a moment of weakness, it was a calculated
act of violence against an innocent soul who had no defense, no escape, and no chance.
As a movement that leads from the front in the fight against gender-based violence, child abuse, and child
killings, we demand that justice be swift and uncompromising. The time for soft words and delayed action
is over. Our children are not statistics. They are not expendable. They are the very heartbeat of this nation.
We call upon government, law enforcement, the judiciary, and civil society to ensure that the full weight of
the law is applied.
No plea, no excuse, no loophole should protect a perpetrator of such unspeakable cruelty.
To Nada-Jane: Your name will not be forgotten. We carry your story as a battle cry in our continued
mission to protect every child, in every corner of this country.
