The arrival of DJ Ready D represents an important moment for the PMC as we continue to build
a movement that brings together people from all walks of life who share a common desire to see
South Africa transformed, and communities were placed at the centre of our country’s future.

Born in District Six and raised on the Cape Flats, DJ Ready D’s life story is deeply connected to

For more than four decades, Ready D has played a pioneering role in the development of hip
hop and DJ culture in South Africa. As a member of the legendary Prophets of the City, he helped

stages with some of the biggest names in international music.

He is a four-time South African DMC Champion and has competed at the highest levels of
international DJ competition. His contribution to the culture was further recognised when he
received the prestigious title of Grandmaster, an honour reserved for highly accomplished
turntablists.

But DJ Ready D’s contribution goes far beyond music.
Throughout his career, he has used his platform to connect with communities, young people and
emerging artists. His work across music, radio, television and community development has
allowed him to remain connected to ordinary people and particularly to the aspirations and
challenges facing young South Africans.

Speaking on his decision to join the movement, Dion Daniels said: “After careful consideration, I am
willing to embrace this new direction and join the movement. I do so with humility, a
willingness to learn and a genuine desire to serve.”

His decision to join the PMC is therefore welcomed as the contribution of a South African who
understands the power of culture, creativity, youth development and community mobilisation.
Reflecting on what drew him to the movement’s platform, he added: “I am particularly
encouraged by the party’s commitment to empowering small and micro businesses,
strengthening local communities, and investing in people.”

The PMC believes that political change cannot be achieved by politicians alone. It requires
teachers, workers, entrepreneurs, artists, community leaders, faith leaders, professionals,
activists, young people and ordinary citizens to take ownership of the future of our country.

DJ Ready D brings a wealth of experience, credibility, and insight into the lives of our communities.

decades using his talent and platform to inspire others.
The PMC is a movement built on three fundamental pillars:

FAMILY. COMMUNITY. OPPORTUNITY.

The addition of DJ Ready D strengthens our commitment to building a South Africa where talent
is recognised, communities are empowered, and every person has an opportunity to contribute to

the future of our country. As Daniels himself put it: “Together, I believe we can help build
stronger, safer and more prosperous communities for all.”
